May the Work I've Done Speak for Me"
Sister Sharon is a devoted spiritual woman of God. She is best known for her calm and peaceful demeanor, graceful humor and deep spiritual intelligence. Born in Florence, Alabama, Sister Sharon understands and appreciates honesty and integrity while conducting the work of God. As a youth she was always found of nature and inquisitive about the natural order of God's universe. She accepted Christ at 12 years old and was baptized in the Tennessee River and attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Cloverdale, Alabama. Her spiritual journey has been a very rough one beginning in 1996 when she received her calling into the ministry. At the time women ministers were not encouraged or supported in her home church and without support or guidance she abandoned her calling and backslid into the world. Around 1998 she experienced a spiritual rebirth after experiencing many severe hardships and depression.
"Our electric had been turned off and it was night. I had gathered all the children into my bed because I didn't want them stumbling around in the dark. After they went to sleep I pulled out my bible, lighted a candle and begin to just read at random. My heart was very heavy and my mind was weary from my troubles so I begin to cry. Finally, I closed the bible and begin to pray. I just looked up towards heavens way and asked God for forgiveness. For so long I had been living my life foolishly, doing crazy things and not being responsible. I thanked God for bringing me this far and that I had my good health and strength to correct my problems. I thanked God for my wonderful neighbors who stood beside me and walked with me through all my trials. After saying my prayer I went on to sleep.
The next morning I woke up very early at sunrise. Unsually early for me. I went into the living room and stood in front of the window. The sun was just beginning to shine through and I could feel the warmth of the sunbeams on my arms and shoulders. I just stood there and basked in the sunlight feeling its warmth shining through me, it felt so wonderful. I heard a voice tell me that everything was going to be alright and I knew that it was God. For the first time in a long time I felt at peace".
